Dr. J. P. Pleads for Assistance to Police Official’s Family

Lok Satta Party’s National Coordinator Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan (Dr. JP) today requested Chief Minister Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy to provide all relief and help to rehabilitate the family of Mr. E. Madhava Reddy, Sub Inspector of Police, Malakpet, who was fatally mowed down by a speeding lorry as he chased and tried to stop it. “There cannot be a more painful incident than this in which a uniformed police officer was disobeyed and run over by a wayward lorry driver in a wanton act of culpable homicide”.

Dr. JP suggested that Mr. Madhava Reddy’s family be extended benefits on the lines of police killed in extremist operations. Under the policy, the Government treats deceased functionaries as on duty until retirement and provides wages and allowances to the family. In addition, one of the surviving members of the family is provided a Government job at an appropriate level depending on educational qualifications.

Dr. JP wanted the Government to ensure payment of wages and allowances to the family of Mr. Madhava Reddy until his retirement and pension after the retirement age. Mr. Madhava Reddy’s son, aged 26 and a Bachelor of Science, be appointed assistant sub-inspector as a special case. “Such a gesture from the Government would enhance the morale of all serving policemen and give them the strength and confidence to discharge their duties in the face of danger and adversity”.

Dr. JP called on members of the family of Mr. Madhava Reddy in the morning and conveyed his condolences.

In his letter, Dr. JP said the death illustrated the malaise afflicting the public order machinery. “We have eroded the self-esteem, confidence and image of the police severely, and as a result lawful orders of uniformed officers are ignored with impunity. The culture of permissiveness is a direct consequence of undue political interference in the day-to-day functioning of the police…”.

Dr. JP called for making crime investigation independent and isolated from political influence and professionalization of law and order police.

  1. My Condolences to Mr.Madhav Reddy's family members,
I really don't know how many Madhav reddy's are dying every day for nation.
Defense and police personals join their services to serve country they take oath to protect there country in all circumstances, country comes first even before there family. But want to question each individual of India including myself what are we doing for them If they die in duty Government gives some money and we all people paying condolences, can any of us take responsibility of there family, can we bring back dead. looking at this will any one dare to join these services??.
First government has to provide basic resources to these personals, see that these accidents become minimal not every day ,People like Jayaprakash naryana garu can only bring some revolution to our country, please sir you are the only person in India who can make a difference.

    Thanks
    Indira

  2. this is one of the very nice blogs i have come across. The write-ups are thought provoking. The case of Police Inspector's is a standing example of corruption in our country. The cuprits should be punished severely to show that the law is not loose.

Just a reply to the above comments, I reckon Indian judiciary is not functioning the way some middle east countrie's. Instead our judiciary believes and in humanity and works to reform criminals.

  5. hello sir,

In the last few days we r watchin in newspapers/tv channels reg properties issues b/n our cbngaru nd ysrgaru ...

I just want to share my views ...

i want to question them if both the ministers are confident tht they dont have ny excess/black money nd really want to serve the people...let the government issue an order to count the total properties of them nd give all their excess money which is morethan wht they declare as their properties during election period...then the excess money itself is sufficinet to build houses for all the poor in the state.....nd rest of the money for charitys in the state..

i wish atleast media people will comeup with this type of ideas to print in papers/ tvhcannels ..rather than funny statements of our ministers..so tht people also strongly support this..

    thank you..
    ramakrishna..

  6. sir in our state intermediate education went into the hands of two corporate people. they became the dictators of intermediate education in the state, i think, basically the sinner is the govt.
because the govt allowed them to admit any number of students into their colleges. if they were allowed to admit a limited no. students into their colleges there wont be such a unhealthy competion.
the problems now the society facing due to the above mentioned thing are
    1. parents and teaching communiety are exploited.
    2. students became butty masters, lossing their creativity.
    3. other colleges are killed. creating unemplyment and unhappy employment to the youngsters in the state.(this is the area where many graduates and post graduates can be employed)
    4. government colleges getting faded off.

    and many more...

note: one of the major corporate college is planning to sell all its organisations to reliance group. (including students, staff, infrastructure) proving education
    a big business
